69 -- MARKET SURVEY TO DETERMINE COMMERCIAL AVAILABILITY OF RETS SPARE PARTS DUE 032098 POC Contract Specialist: Cindy Ahrens (309) 782-4947, PCO: Brian Schmidt (309) 782-3811 DESC: This market survey is to determine the commercial availability, in accordance with FAR Part 12, of direct replacement mechanisms for use on Enhanced Remoted Target System (ERETS) Infantry Target Mechanisms (ITM) and Muzzle Flash Simulator (MFS). The replacement items do not have to be constructed to the ERETS Technical Data Package but they are required to interface with the ERETS cable connections and data commands. The MFS shall provide a short duration flash which simulates the muzzle flash of a small arms weapon when reflected off a target. The cable and mounting bracket shall interface with the ERETS ITM, both physically and electronically. The target lifting mechanism shall raise and lower the ERETS 3-D target as well as standard U.S. Army E and F type targets, and interface with the ERETS targetry equipment. The power and data cables shall interface with the ERETS interconnecting box both physically and electrically, and receive commands and report status updates as received from the rangecontrol tower. The target lifting mechanism shall support the ERETS MFS, and the rifle fire simulator.
