Barbara A. Curtiss, 513-487-2036 E-MAIL: U.S.EPA CINCINNATI CONTRACTS
MANAGEMENT DIVISION, curtiss.barbara@epamail.epa.gov. The U.S. EPA
intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, under the authority of Far
Part 6.301, with the University of Cincinnati. Contractor is expected
to procure reactor surfaces that they have deposited nanocrystalline
titanium dioxide. The deposition of anatase phasetitanium dioxide will
be conducted using gas phase routes to produce engineered reactors.
These reactors will be used for photocatalytic oxidation process.
Titanium dioxide coatings shall be uniform and well characterized. The
deposited titanium dioxide shall be anatase phase. The contractor
shall obtain properties of the file. Coating surfaces: a flat square
cross section 10cm x 10cm quartz cloth will be coated with titanium
dioxide film. Inside a lateral surface of a cylindrical reactor. The
coating conditions shall be varied to obtain films of different
thickness and specific surface areas. Characterization: a detailed
characterization of the titania films will be obtained using x-ray
diffraction, electron microscopy, and absorption spectroscopy
Techniques. Delivery time: the contractor will provide two prototypes
samples within six months after the contract is awarded. The prototypes
include a coated quartz cloth and the second one 3.5" i.d. x 10" length
quartz tube. The coated surface shall be deemed acceptable following
initial trials and testing catalytic effectiveness. (0058) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0020 19980303\B-0006.SOL)
