56 -- STEEL FENCING MATERIALS SOL 1422-N670-Q98-0012 DUE 040398 POC Pam Vega, Procurement Clerk (303) 236-4400 This request for quote is requirement for steel fencing materials for BLM field offices located in Nevada and Eastern California. This solicitation is the first of possibly four such solicitations for steel fencing materials throughout the Western part of the U.S.. The period of performance is three years with a one year base period and two one year options. The contract type will be Indefintie Delivery/Indefinite Quantity with an annual minimum order quantity of 25 miles of fencing materials. The minimum quantity per order will be five miles of fencing materials, which is considered equivalent to one bobtail, 24,000 lbs, truck load. The specifications include: 1) "T" posts in 5 1/2 ft. lengths in either all green or green with silver tip at 1.33 pound per foot using ASTM A 702 standard; 2) Barbed Wire using ASTM A 121 standard; 3) Barbless Wire also using ASTM A 121 standard; 4) Fence Clips; and 5) Fence Stays at 30", 32" and 36" lengths using ASTM A 702 standard. The solicitation includes the SF-1449and clauses for ordering commerical items. Facsimile quotations will be accepted. Award(s) will be made using commericial practices under the "best value" approach where both price and past performance are used for evaluation purposes. See Numbered Note 1. (0061)
