D -- REQUEST FROM THE COMMAND AND CONTROL BATTLELAB (C2B) FOR INFORMATION ON MODELING AND SIMULATION TOOLS THAT CAN BE USED TO IMPROVE COMMAND AND CONTROL (C2) OPERATIONS SOL SS/C2B/BeasleyT DUE 031998 POC Major Stevens, Project Manager, (850)882-0461 This is a Request for Information (RFI). The Command and Control Battlelab (C2B) is requesting information on Command and Control (C2) modeling and simulation tools. These tools should facilitate C2 of AF assets at organizational levels at or below the Joint Forces Air Component Commander. Modeling and simulation tools should focus on force planning, logistics planning, and resource allocation functions, as a minimum. Possible outputs may include resource requirements to achieve given objectives, capability to achieve stated objectives given resource levels, and logistic planning considerations i.e. track resources sortie generation capability given resource levels. Models should be able to relate data/information from multiple sources within a theater/area of responsibility. Inputs should be obtained from existing AF databases for logistics and maintenance, weapons effectiveness models. Models should be able to be hosted on a PC, workstation, or operate in a networked environment. Respondents to this RFI/market survey are requested to provide technical data to include a discussion of the value their product would add to the command and control process. All corporate and proprietary information should be so marked and will be fully protected to the extent allowed. This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. This RFI does not constitute the solicitation of proposals.
