tests (10-day solid phase survival tests with marine amphipod Ampelisca
abdita on 100 sediment samples collected in Chesapeake Bay and New
Jersey Harbor. Solid-phase amphipod bioassay shall follow the basic
procedures of the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM, 1993)
for testing of marine and estuarine sediments with amphipods. Tests
shall be performed with Ampelisca abdita in quintuplicates with 10-day
static exposures to solid phase sediments. Select and test sediment
from outside the study area for use as a negative performance control.
Each batch os samples tested shall be accompanies by a test of a
positive control slected by the Contractor. The performance period for
this contract shall begin July 1, 1998 and run through February 1999
(samples will be collected in July & August). Options for testing of
samples collected in 1999 and 2000 are included. All interested
concerns may submit offers which will be considered by the Government.
