GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION METROPOLITAN AREA ACQUISITION (MAA)
NETWORKING SESSION ANNOUNCEMENT The General Services Administration
(GSA) Northeast and Caribbean Region Business Service Center, the
Office of Enterprise Development (OED), and the Federal Technology
Service, are hosting a networking session for the purpose of enhancing
subcontracting opportunities for small, small disadvantaged, and
women-owned small businesses for the Metropolitan Area Acquisition
(MAA) procurement of the FTS2001 acquisition. The Metropolitan Area
Acquisition will provide local telecommunications service consisting of
voice, data, and other services for Federal Government agencies.
Competing potential prime contractors and interested large businesses
include: Ameritech; AT&T Government Markets; Bell Atlantic Federal
Systems,Cook Inlet Communications; GTE Government Services; MCI;
Pacific Bell Federal Systems; Heritage Telecommunications;
Sprint-Government Systems Division; Teleport Communications Group; and
World Com. Subsequent procurements are planned for Chicago and San
Francisco. Additional metropolitan areas will be added at a later date.
This networking session will allow potential prime contractors,
interested large businesses, and several groups of small, minority, and
women-owned businesses the opportunity to come together and exchange
business interests with the hope of establishing a contracting
relationship under the Metropolitan Area acquisition for the New York
City area. Additional networking sessions will be scheduled for Chicago
and San Francisco at a later date. THIS NETWORKING SESSION IS SCHEDULED
