The following text is removed from the solicitation: "The requirement is for the software, software upgrades, any required hardware, maintenance and support to set up and operate 22 Electronic Data Interchange mailboxes at the Defense Mega Center (DMC) Mechanicsburg for the Standard Accounting and Reporting System (STARS). The mailboxes will be used to receive vendor invoices which are transmitted directly from vendors or Value Added Networks (VAN)." The following text is added to the solicitation: The requirement is for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Value Added Network (VAN) services to maintain and support 22 EDI mailboxes at the VAN and to process EDI data transmissions to and from these mailboxes. The Defense Mega Center (DMC) Mechanicsburg's Standard Accounting and Reporting System (STARS) and its EDI trading partners will access these mailboxes for the receipt, retention and transmission of EDI transactions to and from each other. Transaction sets will be transferred to and from the VAN mailboxes either directly by STARS and its trading partners, or indirectly by its trading partners via interconnects with the trading partner's independent VANs. The VAN shall be cabable of providing problem free interfacing and communications with TELINK software, Ver 2.2, the communications program currently in use by the STARS system. The 989 Electronic Signature Transaction Set is enveloped according to ANSI X12 standards. CLINS numbered CLIN 0001, CLIN 0002 and CLIN 0003 CLINs are changed to read: The van services provided must be responsible for maintaining standard EDI VAN services in accordance with common industry practice. This includes the computers, communication equipment and software necessary to set up, maintain and support such a system, for the originally identified periods.
