Generator based on an Intel Pentium Pro platform, running Windows NT.
Windows NT must be loaded on the character Generator. Minimum hardware
requirements: 200 MHZ Pentium II w/300 watt power supply, Keyboard,
(2) serial, one (1) parallel port; 256k cache memory; one (1) 3.5"
floppy drive; one (1) 24xCD ROM Drive, one (1) Internal 100 MB ZIP
drive; 4.2GB hard drive; 128 MB RAM; 32 bit graphics card with digital
4:4:4: multi-frame buffer w/16 MB/RAM and NTSC inputs and outputs,
well as Y/C, RGB and YUV w/Key. Minimum of 500 True Type format fonts
as well as textures, backgrounds and micro applications for font
creation and manipulation. 17-inch or larger SVGA Monitor. The
character generator must be genlockable in order to provide synchronous
output to the production switcher. The character generator must be able
to read and write .dko cg files. The character generator must include
internal 10/100 Base T Networking capability in order to be compatible
with the USDA (Novell) internal computer Network and must be
capability with (Avid ) Non-Linear Editors and Power Mac Graphics
systems. The character generator must have the ability to apply Motion
Effect to any character, Layer or Image. The supplier must install,
setup and provide operational training on equipment. The supplier
primary facility should be within a 50-mile radius of USDA in case of
emergency service is needed. Delivery to USDA, Washington, DC 20250.
Delivery within 60 days. This acquisition is being performed under
simplified acquisition procedures. All responsible sources may submit
an offer which will be considered. Issuance of a purchase order is
