This is a modification to a previously-published synopsis posted on 18 Feb 98, cite number D-049 SN169710, as amended by submission posted 23 Feb 98, cite number D-054 SN171278. This amendment is issued as 0002. Offerors are required to respond to this notice by providing within their offers, written acknowledgment and acceptance of the changes set forth below. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N00140-98-R-1165 applies. The specification is hereby changed to read as follows: Line Item 0001 (as well as 0003, 0005 and 0007) is beverage base, liquid, natural or natural and artificial flavoring, with nutritive carbohydrate sweeteners, 5-plus-1-yield, to yield 0% fruit juice in ready-to-consume fruit-flavored drink, 2 1/ 2-, 3- or 5-gallon bag-in-a-box, with 100% RDA (60 mg) vitamin C per 8 ounce serving, for use with post-mix beverage dispensers, high commercial grade. All other references to a 10% fruit juice content requirement are hereby deleted from the specification. Line Item 0002 (as well as 0004, 0006 and 0008) is further defined as follows: Dispensing equipment units are to be electrically refrigerated (115 volts, 15 amps), with 2-gallon minimum cooled water storage capacity, and a minimum of 2 spigots per machine. The draw capacity shall be at least 24 ounces per minute @ 75 degree ambient temperature. The units shall be key lockable. Finally, the clause at 252.219-7006, Notice of Evaluation Preference for Small Disadvantaged Business Concerns, (Alt. I) is hereby included as part of the DFARS 252.212-7001 addendum of the solicitation.
