Sources sought for small poultry manufacturers to produce cooked batter/breaded cut-up chicken (8 pieces), chicken nuggets, and chicken patties for use in the National School Lunch Program and other Federal feeding programs. This request is for information only. Proposals are not being requested nor will they be accepted in response to this synopsis. Contracts will not be awarded solely on the basis of the response hereto, or on follow-up information subsequently sought. Sources are sought for small businesses (under 500 employees) that are also manufacturers of poultry products. Cooked batter/breaded chicken is produced from ready-to-cook broiler/fryer chickens weighing 2.50 to 3 pounds each without necks and giblets. This product is purchased in units weighing 39,000 pounds each. Chicken nuggets and patties are produced from ready-to-cook chicken and chicken products (parts), or boneless parts, meat, and skin. They are packaged 5 or 10 pounds per plastic-film bag in a shipping container. This productis purchased in units weighing 39,000 pounds each.
