The Maintenance and Logisitic Command is proposing a contract for the haulout and repairs of (4) 44' motor life boats. The boat are located as follows: 44369 and 44301 (National Motor Life Boat School; Ilwaco, WA), 44385 (San Francisco, CA), and the 44305 (Humboldt, CA). The period of performance of this contract begins 15 June and ends 31 July 1998. The major work items include and not limited to: Boat Transportation to & from Contractor facility, renewal of strut & stern tube bearings, propeller shaft renewal, strainer overhaul, fuel tank air test & inspection, air receiver inspection & test, rudder tubes lower bearing assy., messdeck ladder step renewal, aft steering preservation, aft survivors comp. bilge preservation, hull freeboard preservation, coxwains flat preservation, underwater body preservation, zinc anode renewal, removal of non-skid and haulout, underwater body work, & fuel tank cleaning. The solicitation will be issued on or about 30 March 1998 as a total small business set aside procurement.
