J -- REPAIR OF DIGITAL FLIGHT RECORDER, NSN -- 6610-01-130-7057CX POC Vivian McGhee (98M03), Source Development Analyst, 912-926-5871 This is not a presolicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part 5, but a Sources Sought Synopsis to identify sources for the repair of a Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR). Model 209F Digital Flight Data Recorder is a mylar tape six track bi-directional recorder used to capture and store flight data. Information is received in serial Harvard bi-phase format from the Flight Data Acquisition Unit (FDAU) and recorded on mylar tape. The DFDR consist of the recorder assembly (tape deck assembly and protective cover) and the electronic assembly. The tape deck contains the recording tape and tape transport while the electronic assembly includes printed wiring boards, interconnect wiring board, motor, transformers, capacitor, and coils. Electrical interface for record and playback is achieved through a single connector located on the rear of the DFDR unit.
