Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to acquire the services of a
contractor, under Standard Identification Code (SIC) 7372, to provide
a Product Data Management (PDM)/computer software system that shall
allow safe storage of all information that is relevant to the
definition of a particular technical project. This information
contains, but is not limited to technical drawings pertaining to the
project. Written specifications, manuals, Bills of Materials, lists of
purchased parts, etc. are also part of the configuration and shall be
managed by the same software system. The PDM system is defined to
include the following aspects: 1) Automated document number
assignments; 2) Electronic signature arrangements; 3) Total document
release and change control; 4) Distributed vault for data base storage;
5) Straightforward backup capability. The requirements for the PDM
system shall provide/integrate or interface: 1) User Services: Data
Vault and Document Management, Workflow and Process Management, Product
Structure Management, Classification and Retrieval; 2) Utility
Services: Communication and Notification, Data Transport and
Translation, Administration; 3) Supported System Architecture:
Distributed Vaults; 4) Hardware and Operating System Support: Server
and Client support for UNIX, Client support for MS-Windows, Client
support for X-Windows; 5) CAD/CAM Integrations: Hewlett Packard ME10,
Hewlett Packard Solid Designer; 6) CAD/CAM Interfaces: Hewlett Packard
ME30, AutoCAD, Pro-Engineer; and 7) Applications Interfaces: MS-Word,
WordPerfect, MS-Excel and Lotus 1-2-3. The contractor shall provide
software licenses, consulting and implementation for the PDM system, a
one-day training class, warranty and service agreement for a period of
five years. Delivery required FOB destination, Gaithersburg, MD.
Delivery is required 30 days after contract award date. All responsible
