V -- TRANSPORTATION OF FREIGHT & COORDINATION SERVICES FOR FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION SOL NA DUE 031898 POC DRMS-UPO, ATTN: Ms. Tracey Murdock This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ONLY. REQUESTS FOR A SOLICITATION UNDER THIS NOTICE WILL NOT BE MAINTAINED AND ARE NOT REQUESTED BY THIS NOTICE. The Defense Reutilization & Marketing Service (DRMS) is evaluating availability of sources for the following services inclusive of ALL items listed below:: 1) Daily pickup of freight from up to 7 locations within the Continental United States; 2) Shipment of freight to one specified address from pick up location (origin); 3) Shipment of freight to customer via carrier/broker terminal for items NOT going to just one address; 4) Coordination of all shipments to include tracking capabilities via internet, 1-800, or other automated system; 5) Provide option of carrier to customer for items shipped from carrier/broker terminal; 6) Global shipping capability; 7) Short term storage capabilities for items of which the carrier/broker is coordinating shipment. The carrier/broker will be responsible for coordination of all aspects of shipping freight from origin to final destination. The Government will pay actual shipping costs from origin to one specified address OR from origin to carrier/broker terminal on a cost reimbursement basis. Further shipping arrangements/payment will be the responsibility of the addressee from the carrier/brokers terminal, however the Government will require tracking info/capability for all items to final destination. Services to provide coordination utilizing information provided by the Government will be ordered on a fixed price basis. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.
