Curtis (Site Code W31XNJ) This project is a design-build contract for the 182,300 s.f. Life Cycle Software Engineering Center at Redstone Arsenal, AL. Areas include administrative space on 6" raised floors, 15 laboratories on 18" raised computer flooring, a high bay equipment test area with a 25 ton bridge crane, and a cafeteria. Support systems include uninterruptible and varying power, intrusion detection and radio frequency shielding. Site improvements include electrical distribution with a substation, approx. 14,000 l.f. of water line, 12,000 l.f. of force main, 9,000 l.f. of gas main, 11,000 s.y. of hardstand, road improvements and traffic signals, and new parking. Bid documents are available on or about 20 March 1998. Estimated cost of work is over $10,000,000. Request for plans and specifications shall indicate in writing whether firm will be as prime contractor or a subcontractor. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered.
