Brox 703-305-8016 The Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) intends to award a sole source contract with AMT Associates, 1801 Crystal Drive, Suite 708, Arlington, VA 22202. This follow-on five year (base year and four (4) one year options) contract will utilize Part 12 of the FAR. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 97-03. The SIC for this procurement is 5045. PSION Corporation is the only firm legally and operationally able to authorize exclusively which companies will sell and support their products. PSION will only sell and provide support for their equipment to distributors who possess sole reseller rights in specific geographic areas. The hand-held computer product(s) are manufactured by PSION Corporation and offered to the market place through distributors who possess sole reseller rights for distribution in specific geographic areas. AMT is the only known sole distributor and software developer in the Mid Atlantic region (Washington, DC; Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia). This procurement is for technical services including but not limited to auxiliary hardware and software to support "Service, Technicians & Asset Tracking System" (STATS), Expert Advisory (EA) and inventory management and fixed asset operations and their maintenance. This procurement will utilize the PSION hand-held computers to further develop automated support systems that will be utilized in operating and maintaining automated information systems provided for PTO's program services. No other source has the necessary capabilities, knowledge and experience to provide the products and services in a timely manner.
