Nelson, 202/874-5040 The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) intends to issue a modification with three (3) option years to The University of Chicago CRSP for data files. The CRSP tape/CD system provide a unique database conducive to financial and econometrics analyses. It provides time series information on stock prices, dividends, and pertinent market information. CRSP supports several major functions within the Economics Department: early warning systems analyses and large bank monitoring, credit and market risk assessments, and risk based capital measures. Economic research and analysis demands access to bank stock price data and borrower stock price data distributed over a historical time series and updated regularly. Such data provide necessary information to construct behavioral and financial bank models of whole bank risk, inputs into the Comptroller's Supervision by Risk Policy, and Quarterly Bank Condition Reports. The data is transferred to Economic and Policy Analysis servers for full incorporation into the Integrated Banking Information System and Industry Sector Information System's data systems. From there it is accessed and processed into useful risk measures for Examiner's In Charge, Assistant Deputy Comptrollers and financial analysts throughout the agency. CRSP data files are proprietary therefore, this procurement is a SOLE SOURCE and NO solicitation is available. Letters and telephone requests for a copy of a solicitation will not be accepted and are considered nonresponsive to this CBD announcement. However, contractors with expertise in the areas stated above may submit a PROPOSAL with PRICING to be considered by the Government no later than 15 DAYS from the published date of this announcement.
