R -- SUPPORT SERVICES FOR INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM (ITS) HUMAN FACTORS PROGRAM SOL DTFH61-98-R-00059 DUE 050498 POC Carl Rodriguez/Lori Murphy, HAM-40D, (202) 366-4240/ (202) 366-4106 FHWA intends to issue an RFP for technical and administrative support services for the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Human Factors Program. A 2-year base contract with two option years is anticipated. The contractor will be required to provide total technical and administrative support for driver behavior studies, technical support for research programs, as well as technical and administrative support in human factors projects. Duties include: ( 1 ) assisting in analyzing and reviewing specific technical and program issues, ( 2 ) assisting in planning and executing program activities on ( a ) highway safety and operations, ( b ) intelligent transportation systems including rural, weather, and traffic management centers, ( c ) driver -vehicle interfaces and ( d ) Intelligent Vehicle Initiative ( IVI ) and ( 3 ) assisting in resident staff studies by providing support for the human factors laboratory. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the FHWA. THE ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE OF THIS RFP IS APRIL 03, 1998. THIS IS NOT A SMALL BUSINESS SET- ASIDE. Parties wishing to obtain a copy of the solicitation may submit written requests to the address indicated above and should include two (2) self-addressed gummed mailing labels. The solicitation number should appear on the bottom edge of the labels. No telephone, fax or e-mail requests will be accepted. All copies of the solicitation will be mailed in 3 1/2" diskette, WordPerfect 6.1 format, to offerors who send in written requests. Amendments, if any, will be mailed either in hard copy or diskette format.
