Savannah River Company (WSRC), management and operating contractor for
the U.S. Department of Energy's Savannah River Site (SRS) near Aiken,
South Carolina. The purpose of this notice is to determine public
interest in the possible licensing of a technology called the Sampling
System Controller, Version 3 (SSC3). The SSC3 is an environmental
instrument that incorporates a programmable, multi-range, fluid pump
and flow control system, a universal programming interface, and a data
acquisition module. The pump and flow control components are modular,
interchangeable, and can be configured in series or in a parallel
arrangement. This provides versatility in atmospheric and aqueous
sampling practices in both ambient and process applications. The SSC3
has been field tested and support documentation for this instrument
includes comprehensive field and technical manuals. Respondents will be
provided with a technical brief and instructions for preparing and
submittinga business plan, an integral element of the licensing
process. Responses to this notice must be received by March 31, 1998.
