Naval Research Laboratory intends to solicit only Swales Aerospace to FABRICATE AN 18" SOL-GEL WICK LHP SYSTEM. The following tasks will be taken at Swales Aerospace: (A) Optimize the fabrication process of Sol-Gel filled polyethlene wick (B) Fabricate a functional Sol-Gel wick for LHP application (C) Fabriicate and integrate an 18" Sol-Gel wick Loop Heat Pipe System that meets the following requirements: Physical; (A) Evaporator OD <1.0" (B) Evaporator length >18" (C) Transport Line OD <3/16" (D) Vapor Transport Line =60" (E) Liquid Transport Line =60" And (F) Condenser Line =80". Thermal Performance; (A) Heat Transport >400W with at least 27" adverse elevation (B) Minimum start-up power <3W And (C) Return Liquid Subcooling <10 degrees C between 3W and 400W power input.
