This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration intends to purchase an external 8mm Tape Drives and peripheral equipment as follows: Item 1. (20 ea) Exabyte 8505XL 8mm, 7/14GB Tape Drive Subsystem to include: Desktop Enclosure with power supply and cable, Note: Enclosure no more than 3 inches in height, Centronics-50 (Female) Interfacing, SCSI-ID Select Switches, Status Display Panel Containing: Compress Button, Compression Status, Density Button, Tape Remaining Display in KB, % Rewrites, LEDS for: Read, Write, Search, Rewind, Write File Mark, 2-Year Parts and Labor Warranty on all components (Drive and Enclosure); Item 2. (4 ea) 1 Meter (3.3 Feet) SCSI Cable with Mini-D50 to Centronics-50 Male Connectors; Item 3. (17 ea) 1/2 Meter (20 inches) SCSI Cable with Centronics-50 Male Connectors; Item 4. (3 ea) Internal, Single-Ended, SCSI-2 Host Adapter with Mini-D50 Interface Capable of Addressing Seven (7) External Devices. These adapters will be installed in IBM Model 41T Workstations, Serial#s: 26-03576, 26-12250, 26-12251. Delivery and acceptance point is the U.S. Dept.
