(202) 874-3148 E-MAIL: jennifer.sellers@bep.treas.gov,
cynthia.duncan@bep.treas.gov. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is
currently evaluating alternate substrates for the printing of U.S.
Currency. The Bureau has a limited amount of press time available to
support this endeavor. In an effort to enhance the testing and
evaluation of alternate substrates, the Bureau is offering interested
parties the opportunity to obtain samples of black intaglio currency
ink produced by the Bureau's ink mill. The anticipated sample size is
10 pounds. This will allow interested parties the opportunity to use
actual currency ink to print on their substrate and submit printed test
samples to the Bureau for evaluation. Requests for ink samples shall be
submitted to BEP, Securities Technology Institute, Attn: William T.
Strahan, 14th and C Sts, S.W. Washington, D.C. 20228. Mr. Strahan can
