Davy, Regional Contract Specialist The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award a non personal service contract to the qualified individual or business capable of providing quality dental assistant services to the inmate population housed at the Federal Correctional Institution, Manchester, Kentucky.Services include but are not limited to: screening patients, making appointments, retrieving patient records, preparing patient for treatments, making necessary entries in dental records, assisting dental officers with routine procedures, maintaining dental equipment, fabricating and repairing dental prostheses and appliances, taking diagnostic x-rays, performing four quality assurances maintain proper infection control and make primary impressions. Requirements include but are not limited to: certification by a licensed school teaching dental assistance or through continuing education. Contractor must be certified in radiology and radiology safety. A minimum of three years as a dental assistant is required. There is an estimated 780 sessions, with a session being defined as two hours. Three sessions per day will be scheduled between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Schedule is negotiable and will be determined prior to contract award. The contract period will include a base year, not to exceed twelve months from date of award, with four one year option periods. This is a non personal service not to exceed 30 hours per week, and not a personnel appointment. The anticipated receipt of quotations is June 10, 1998, with an anticipated effective award date of October 1, 1998.
