L. Davy, Regional Contract Specialist The Federal Bureau of Prisons
intends to award a non personal service contract to the qualified
individual or business capable of providing quality lab technician
services to the inmate population housed at the Federal Correctional
Institution, Manchester, Kentucky.Services include but are not limited
to: picking up all clinical lab supplies and reports, obtain and
report patient identification and information, record epidemiology and
service patients as required, schedule all patients for requested or
required lab tests, ensures proper follow up, maintain documentation of
lab tests, performs venapunctures, lab tests, ensures that adequate
supplies are maintained and prepare specimens for shipment.
Requirements include but are not limited to: successful completion of
an approved lab technician training program and demonstrate knowledge
of the job skills required. Contractor must be a graduate of an
accredited medical lab tech or medical technologist program. Contractor
must possess current state licensure or certification. Contractor must
also have at least one year of prior experience as a med/lab
technician. There is an estimated 780 sessions, with a session being
defined as two hours. Three sessions per day will be scheduled between
the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Schedule
is negotiable and will be determined prior to contract award. The
contract period will include a base year, not to exceed twelve months
from date of award, with four one year option periods. This is a non
personal service not to exceed 30 hours per week, and not a personnel
appointment. The anticipated receipt of quotations is June 10, 1998,
with an anticipated effective award date of October 1, 1998. Requests
