(360)476-2106 The following information is provided in an effort to
find potential sources for a CNC Plate Punching/Plasma Cutting System
for delivery and installation to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The
requirement is for a turn-key, non-developmental system, and includes
site preparation; assembly, installation and testing of equipment; and
training of operator and maintenance personnel. The intent is to have
a single contractor accomplish all work. The system will be used to
cut and punch individual parts up to 6' x 8' in size from plate stock
of the following dimensions: Width: 2" to 8'; Length: 2' to 33';
Thickness: 1/8" to 1-1/4"; weight: 13,400 lb. The proposed system must
fit within a 15 x 60-foot area and shall not exceed 10 feet in height.
It must contain a single-station hydraulic ram with a minimum 150-ton
hydraulic punching capacity to punch up to a 4-1/2 inch diameter hole
with a single stroke of the ram. The punch and plasma head position
must be accurate to 1/64-inch within 8 feet of the datum point.
Additional features include an indexing tool holder with a minimum of
20 tool stations; air plasma cutting head to cut the maximum plate
thickness; impact marking stylus; powered stock infeed system;
automated part removal system; slug/slag removal system smoke
collection system with HEPA filtration; microprocessor based CNC
electronic control system; and one tooling package of various size
dies. Preliminary Installation Planning (PIP) Drawings, manuals, spare
parts list, PCB certs, OSHA certs and lockout/tagout procedures will
