COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 13,1998 PSA#2051Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound, Bldg 467 W Street,
Code 200 Bid Desk, Bremerton, WA 98314-0051 54 -- SCAFFOLDING MATERIAL SOL n/a DUE 033198 POC Ms. Katie Palmer
(360)476-2106 The following information is provided in an effort to
find a potential source of light weight scaffolding material. The
material will be used to build heavy duty platforms and sub roof
supports, as well as other heavy load applications. The sub roof
support should be able to support two 56 foot by 30 foot sub roofs
weighing 18,500 pounds each, and support a 25 pound per foot snow load.
The supports will be built 60 feet high. Current material is 3 inch
tube and coupler material (big pipe), which too heavy to handle and is
becoming obsolete. Replacement material would require hot dipped
galvanization, or other treatment, as material fill be flooded with
salt water twice a year. A desirable feature is the ability to marry
the big pipe replacement material with 2 inch Tublox tube and coupler
scaffolding. Any interested source is requested to provide information
on type and availability of replacement material. Include a
description of material characteristics, including a discussion of the
material's ability to withstand salt water and the potential for
joining the replacement material to the big pipe with Tublox. Send
information to the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound
(address noted above), to the attention of Katie Palmer (Code 205.KT).
Information can be faxed to (360) 476-6479 or e-mailed to
katie_palmer@puget.fisc.navy.mil. Response is due by 31 March 1998.
