Officer The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO) intends to
issue a sole source delivery order to Scantron Corporation against
their General Services Administration schedule contract (GS-35F-4247D)
for high-speed scanners (Models 4000 and 5500). These scanners are
required to interface with AO-acquired software (JUROR for Windows
Automated Jury Management System software from Omni-Tech Systems Ltd.,
7445 132nd Street, Suite #2016, Surrey, B.C. V3W1JB). The software
provided by Omni is a commercial, off-the-shelf software package that
provides a comprehensive tool to select, track, and manage jurors. For
the high-speed reading of juror qualification questionnaires, the Jury
Management System software supports Scantron Corporation's ScanMark
series of high-speed scanning equipment, which includes such
programmable features as output bins, embedded printers for numbering
of forms, and form definitions. These Scantron scanners meet the
Government's requirements and are compatible with the Omni
CorporationJury Management Software package. Any interested party must
submit written documentation regarding their scanning equipment's
capabilities and compatibility with the Omni Corporation software
package. Such data must include, as a minimum, a complete description
of the proposed item, a complete analysis to demonstrate that the
product provides the necessary capabilities to meet the AO's
requirement, pricing data with applicable discounts, GSA schedule
contract number (if applicable), a point of contact, and any other
pertinent information. This notice of intent is not a request for
competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days
after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the
Government. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be
published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended
schedule vendor and all firms who respond to this synopsis.*****
