Directorate (AFRL/PR), Edwards AFB, CA, is seeking sources capable of
scientific and engineering research and development in theoretical and
experimental rocket and missile propulsion in the physical and
engineering disciplines that support space and missile rocket
propulsion technologies that are of interest to the Air Force. This
effort will provide on-site research and will include investigation of
High Energy Density Matter (HEDM), Chemical/Physical Science and
Engineering Disciplines, and Aerophysical interactions. Typical
research areas include gas flow physics; solar plasma physics;
diagnostic and mechanistic investigations of injector and combustion
processes; and advanced propulsion material synthesis,
characterization, and development. Enhancements to understanding
existing and next generation material fracture mechanic behavior as
they apply to Propulsion Directorate goals (including Integrated High
Payoff Rocket Propulsion Technology Phase II/IIIgoals and Integrated
High Payoff Turbine Engine Technology) are also pursued. The SIC code
for this effort will be 8731. This acquisition will be a recompete of
the current contract and it is anticipated that a cost plus fixed fee
