Young_Lakeeta%PAX9B@MR.NAWCAD.NAVY.MIL. The Electromagnetic
Environmental Effects Competency at the Naval Air Warfare Center,
Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River, MD has a requirement for
engineering, technical, analytical, and training support to minimize
deleterious electromagnetic effects aboard Naval aircraft in support of
the Air Systems Electromagnetic Interference Corrective Action Program
(ASEMICAP), as well as other aircraft programs on an as-needed basis.
The ASEMICAP program seeks to minimize the deleterious electromagnetic
effects in Naval aircraft by analyzing known aircraft problems for
prospective solutions, studying fleet aircraft to reveal unidentified
problems, maintaining a database of known fleet problems and possible
solutions, operating a training program (in the fleet, in Naval
aircraft depots and in the Naval Air Stations), and insuring that
performance specifications address and agree upon matters relating to
electromagnetic effects. Electromagnetic effects include, but are not
limited to interference to avionics equipment (such as to radios,
computers, flight control systems, etc.); hazards to personnel, fuel or
ordnance due to lightning, static electric buildup, or to nearby
antennas; etc. It is anticipated that a cost plus fixed fee contract be
awarded by 31 October 1998 for a base year and four option periods.
This is a follow-on to contract N62269-94-C-0400 with Computer Sciences
Corporation (CSC) being the incumbent contractor. The Statement of Work
from contract N62269-94-C-0400 is available upon request. The
solicitation has a planned release date of 11 May 1998. All interested
parties are requested to submit technical capabilities information
demonstrating ability to successfully perform this effort to Lakeeta
Young by 1 April 1998. E-mails, letters and facsimile transmissions are
acceptable. (0070) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0023 19980313\C-0001.SOL)
