synopsized as RFP-98-006 in August,1997. The U.S. Department of
Education is seeking contractual support to analyze, research, review,
and improve existing systems/activities in order to process and to
facilitate the completion of a large volume of school appeals in the
Default Management Division (DMD). To fulfill this task, the Contractor
shall review documentation submitted by schools which are appealing the
calculation of their cohort default rates for the Federal Student
Financial Assistance Programs, and shall verify the accuracy of the
cohort default rates that were calculated by the Department. The
contractor shall also review documentation submitted by schools which
are appealing their loss of Federal Family Education Loan and/or Direct
Loan Programs eligibility and shall improve existing work processes and
perform analysis on future improvements to the work flow and process.
Anticipated issue date is 04/07/98 with a closing date of 05/12/98.
