plant, labor, equipment, materials, supplies, handling and storage,
transportation, and supervision to perform all work, including work of
an incidental nature, to remove and replace the main sewer lines,
repair partial portions of sewer mains, manholes, jointing, testing of
sanitary sewers, and all other appurtenances in accorance with the
drawings and specifications in specified areas of Family Housing, Fort
Richardson, Alaska. This project includes, but is not limited to, the
following work: Provide and maintain a temporary sewer service
adequate to fully service all housing units having sewer service
interrupted by this project work. This service shall be a continuous
and noninterrupted service to the occupants. Removal and disposal of
existing 8" asbestos cement (AC) pipe, 10" AC pipe, and 12" AC pipe
according to locations shown on contract drawings. The existing sewer
pipe may or may not be asbestos cement. The responsibility is on the
Contractor to handle the material, whatever it may be, according to the
specifications. Existing service lines, manholes, and sewer mains not
designated to be removed, shall remain in place and be reconnected to
the new pipe that is installed. Installation of 8" ductile iron pipe
(DIP), 10" DIP, and 12" DIP in locations designated on contract
drawings including: the excavation, backfill; connections to existing
sewer mains, manholes, and service lines; surface repair, seeding; and
all other appurtenances necessary to make a complete and functional
sanitary sewer system. Repair or replace all existing landscape work,
curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks, fences, mailboxes, trees,
pavement, and any other items that may be disturbed by construction and
return them to their original state before work began. The magnitude of
the project is between $250,000 and $500,000. This requirement is
unrestricted IAW PL.100-656. Offers from Small Disadvantaged Businesses
(SDB's) shall be given an evaluation preference in keeping with DFARS
