This project consists of the modification and replacement of the existing ventilation system for Building No. 5644 (Welding Shop) at the Westover Job Corps Center located in Chicopee, Massachusetts. The work will be phased adn will involve stiffening of roof support members to support a new roof-top make-up unit, installation of roof exhaust fans, roof repair, demolition of existing ductwork, installation of new gas piping, new hot water piping, new transformers, switches, conduit, and new welding hood assemblies. The period of performance for completion of work is 172 calendar days, with substantial completion to be achieved within 112 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated cost range of construction is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Initial Plans and Specifications will be available on March 31, 1998, only from the Architect/Engineer firm of Miller Dyer Spears, Incorporated, 286 Congress Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02210. Any additional shipping and/or handling charges must be pre-paid and COD request will not be accepted. Requests must be in writing and will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until the initial supply is exhausted. For additional sets requested from interested parties, or for requests made after the initial supply is exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed the actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents, plus a shipping charge based on each individual request (if applicable) will be required in order to obtain the IFB documents. Pre-Bid Walk-Thru is scheduled for April 15, 1998, at 10:00 a.m. (local) at the Center. This will be the only opportunity to review the job site prior to submission of bids.
