contact the contracting office, Gregory.N.Smith@NOAA.gov. A draft
Statement of Work and Performance Specification for NOAA Weather Radio
(NWR) transmitters are available for public comment. The desired
transmitters would be 100 to 1000 watts, FM, 162 MHz, dual redundant,
and possess automatic switching. These draft documents are available
for review. Electronic versions are available via the Internet at
http://www.oso3.nws.noaa.gov/oso31. It is anticipated that these draft
documents, once revised, will be used in an upcoming procurement for
the purchase of NWR transmitters by NOAA and to establish a designated
source(s) of supply for transmitters to upgrade and enhance the
existing NWR network for purchase by state and local partnerships. The
transmitters would likely be purchased and installed, in multiple
small lots of 1 to up to as many as 20, over the next several years.
Comments received by April 3, 1998, will be used in finalizing these
draft documents. (0071) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0264 19980316\58-0006.SOL)
