The United States Information Agency (USIA), International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB), Contracts and Procurement Division intends to negotiate and issue a non-competitive purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures to Xerox Corporation for replacement parts for the Xerox 6080 workstation and the Xerox NS8000 series server. The following parts will be covered under this order: 1. #110K2020, Keyboard; 2. #123K1890, Screen; 3. #18K301, Mouse; 4. #140K24341, IOP; 5. #105K1211, Power Supply; 6. #121S2343, 40 MB Hard Drive. The exact quantity for these items is unknown at the present time. However, parts will be ordered on an as needed basis. DELIVERY: 30 Days ARO. F.O.B: Destination. Background: The Agency's contract with Xerox Corporation for the above parts expires on March 31, 1998. Xerox Corporation is the sole manufacturer of the SNAP computer system and the only known supplier for replacement parts. The SNAP system is 15 years old and outdated. The Agency is scheduled to begin replacing these workstations in mid-April. Effective, April 1, 1998 the Agency will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all SNAP workstations and servers. Xerox Corporation has a sufficient inventory of parts that the Agency anticipate will last until all workstations and servers have been replaced. The authority for use of other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all proposals received by March 26, 1997 will be considered by the Government. (0070)
