BY STORMS OR OTHER NATURAL DISASTERS. SOL DACW17-98-R-0008 DUE 041798.
Solicitation for two IDIQ contracts for removing, reducing volume of,
and disposing of, debris generated by storms or other natural
disasters. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) plans to award two
contracts against this solicitation; one for Puerto Rico and one for
the U.S. Virgin Islands. Offerors are encourage to submit offers for
both locations; however, receipt of a contract award for one of the
locations will render the offeror ineligible for award in the other
location. Notice is given that contracts will only be awarded in the
event the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) tasks the USACE
with responding to a natural disaster during the 1998 hurricane season.
If no such tasks are issued, the solicitation will be cancelled at no
cost to the Government. The maximum value of each contract will be
$20,000,000 per year for the base year and 4 option years.Task orders
against these contracts may be priced in any of several different ways
(e.g., fixed-price for equipment, fixe- price per cubic yard, and/or
cost-reimbursement). Evaluation criteria for contract awards will
include: past performance, management plan, subcontracting (with
special emphasis on subcontracting with firms located in the disater
area), offeror's business location, and price. This solicitation is
