Strunk -- 202-268-4460 On September 18, 1997, the Postal Service announced that it was seeking sources with the ability to correct unsatisfactory tire wear on its fleet of Long Life Vehicles (LLVs). Market research has resulted in identifi- cation of sources that have proven solutions to the problem. Accordingly, the Postal Service is negotiating directly with these sources. Due to the sensitivity of the negotiations and to preserve the integrity of the purchasing process, we will not reveal the names of the sources until a supplier is selected for award.
