Command proposes to modify an existing contract with Northrop Grumman
Corporation to incorporate a line item for initial spares to support
the fielding of production systems (AN/TPQ-36(V)8) for both the Marine
Corps and the Army. The AN/TPQ-36(V)8 FIREFINDER radar is a weapon
locating radar that tracks mortar, artilery and rockets. The
AN/TPQ-36(V)8 Electronics Upgrade production contract was awarded in
August 1996 to Northrop Grumman Corporation after a competitive LRIP
contract was completed. A total of 44 production systems were procured
for the US Army and the Marine Corps. The systems are scheduled to
begin fielding in 1998. A requirements now exists to procure spares for
these rpoduction units. The period of performance for this acquisition
will be 12 months. The US Army CECOM has established a Business
Opportunities Page (BOP) website to allow electronic transmittal of
Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitation for Bids (IFBs) from CECOM
to industry. All parties interested in doing business with CECOM are
invited to access, operate, send and receive information from the BOP
