Clements, Contracting Officer, (732)532-4349, Pattie Rosengrant, Contract Specialist, (732)427-1393 The United States Communications-Electronics Command proposes to modify an existing contract with Northrop Grumman Corporation to incorporate a line item for initial spares to support the fielding of production systems (AN/TPQ-36(V)8) for both the Marine Corps and the Army. The AN/TPQ-36(V)8 FIREFINDER radar is a weapon locating radar that tracks mortar, artilery and rockets. The AN/TPQ-36(V)8 Electronics Upgrade production contract was awarded in August 1996 to Northrop Grumman Corporation after a competitive LRIP contract was completed. A total of 44 production systems were procured for the US Army and the Marine Corps. The systems are scheduled to begin fielding in 1998. A requirements now exists to procure spares for these rpoduction units. The period of performance for this acquisition will be 12 months.
