is seeking to eliminate the printing of large quantities of documents,
warehouse storage, and the manual processing of filling customer
publication orders. The agency currently uses the Electronic Publishing
System (EPS), Interleaf 6 publishing software platform and other
supporting products such as Relational Document Manager (RDM),
Cyberleaf, Interleaf WorldView. The NFC is seeking a turnkey solution
to add On Demand Printing capability to the EPS. On demand printing,
digitally stored files, and short print runs are highly favorable to
the agency. Interleaf's DemandPrint2 software provides the EPS with an
On Demand Printing software solution that is fully integrated with
installed Interleaf publishing tools, and is compatible with the Xerox
DocuTech 6135 printers that will be the output module of the On Demand
Printing environment. The EPS hardware includes IBM RS/6000 servers
with a RAID subsystem, IBM RS/6000 workstations, SUN SPARC
workstations, IBM PS/2 PC's utilizing X-Windows emulation, Synoptics
network systems, QMS laser printers, Canon color copiers with
Postscript Intelligent Processing Units (PS-IPU's), a Laser Master
large format color printer, and a Varityper image setter, connected by
a dual-ring Token RIng network using TCP/IP. The EPS interfaces with
and is supported by an IBM9X2 mainframe system, and the NFC enterprise
-- a wide Novell local area network infrastructure. Delivery is
required within 60 calendar days after receipt of a contract.
Installation, implementation, tailoring, and training will be
scheduled. The option to renew maintenance services for an additional
four (4) years is solicited. The government intends to procure
