Locus, Inc., has already developed a Loran-C monitoring receiver under a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract with the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (VNTSC). This receiver has been developed from the beginning to meet the U.S. Coast Guard's (USCG) needs, and the USCG is now required to purchase 97 Locus Loran-C Receiver Systems with Receiver System Modifications; 24 Locus Radio Frequency Splitter Boxes with Radio Frequency Splitter Box Modifications; Option for an additional 9 Receiver Systems and 3 Radio Frequency Splitter Boxes; and 4 Option Years of Maintenance for the Receiver Systems and the Splitter Boxes. Locus, Inc., is the only source that meets the USCG's needs for immediate production and without expending any significant additional funds on non recurring engineering.
