The Navy requires the development of a nickel-zinc aircraft starter battery. The performance criteria for the battery shall be set forth in an NSWC Crane specification. The period of performance is anticipated to be 18 months. The contractor will be required to deliver a minimum of 3 each prototype cells during the performance period. This procurement will be issued as a sole source in accordance with the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 to Next Century Power, 300 Technology Circle, Scotts Valley, CA 95066.
