Atlanta Contracting Center, Fort McPherson, GA, intends to issue a
solicitation (Reference RFP No. in Block 9 above), for the provision of
all supervision, personnel, equipment, materials, and management
transportation, except as specified as Government Furnished Equipment
(GFP) in the Performance Work Statement, necessary to perform
Maintenance and Repair of Foreign Combat and U.S. Manufactured Tactical
Vehicles assigned to the Foreign Military Intelligence Battalion
(FMIB), National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California. Types of
Foreign Combat Vehicles and Equipment to be serviced under the proposed
contract (both tracked and wheeled), include: BMP-1 and BMP-2 Armored
Tracked Vehicles, BRDM Four Wheel Drive Armored Vehicle, MTLB
Multi-Purpose Tracked Vehicle, ZSU-23-4 Anti-Aircraft Tracked Vehicle,
T-72M1 Medium Battle Tank, T-55 Light Battle Tank, BRM-K1 Armored
Vehicle, and BTR-2 Armored Anti-Tank. Types of U.S. Manufactured
Vehicles and Equipment include: M998 Utility Truck, 1.2 Ton (Cargo),
M998A1, M35A2 Utility Truck, 2.5 Ton, M200A1 Generator Trailer, M816
(ww) Truck, Wrecker, 5 Ton(ww), and 930 Truck, Forklift (6000 lbs).
Total Vehicle Quantity Anticipated -- 25 units. The Government
contemplates a Firm Fixed Price contract arrangement inclusive of a 12
month base period and four 12 month option periods. Should the
Government elect to exercise an option period, any extension of option
period services will be accomplished pursuant to authority set forth
at FAR Cluases 52.217-8 and 52.217-9. The Request For Proposals is
scheduled for release o/a 3 Apr 98, with a Proposal Due Date of 4 May
98. Subsequent to evaluation of initial proposals received, offerors
may be notified concerning the conduct of Oral Presentations. The
competitive range will be limited to those proposals considered, after
initial evaluation, as most highly rated, and may require further
reduction for purposes of efficiency, dependent upon the total number
of proposals received. The level of competition for this procurement is
restricted to a 100% Small Business set-aside (See Numbered Note 1).
