REQUEST FOR WHITE PAPERS FOR AFMC/SC SUPPORT Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) is in the process of modernizing its communications infrastructure. One of the key components is to ensure that an interoperable, standards-based infrastructure is created. AFMC intends to use commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products wherever possible. To accomplish this effort, long-range strategic planning must begin as soon as possible. Therefore, the AFMC Corporate Information Officer (CIO) is requesting white papers on the future direction of innovations being developed in the management of information technology. These papers, not to exceed 3 pages in length, will be used to generate ideas and initiatives for the AFMC Information Management Strategic Planning process, plus provide an overview of any new products or services that may be beneficial. This call for white papers is not a solicitation for contract services, and should not be considered as a precursor to any contractual solicitation.
