OPPORTUNITY TO COMMERCIALIZE KELLY AIR FORCE BASE SCIENCE AND 20 ENGINEERING LABORATORY Opportunity to Commercialize Kelly Air Force Base Science and Engineering Laboratory EG&G Management Services of San Antonio, Inc., (EG&G) has been tasked by the Greater Kelly Development Corporation (GKDC), to select a company or organization to operate and lease the Kelly Science and Engineering Laboratory (KSEL) and convert it into a privately operated, commercial operation. 20 GKDC and EG&G92s vision for KSEL commercialization includes: 20 * Lease laboratory facilities and equipment to selected KSEL operator. As early as June 1998, GKDC expects to acquire title to KSEL equipment and lease the KSEL buildings from the AF. 20 * Continue to provide KSEL services to San Antonio Air Logistics Center (SA-ALC) missions as long as these missions are performed by the SA-ALC at Kelly Air Force Base. As the operating contractor for GKDC, EG&G expects to subcontract this workload to the selected KSEL operator. * Convert KSEL into a commercial business that (1) creates good paying jobs, (2) offers quality services that will attract other tenants to Kelly, and (3) contributes to selected operator 92s long term business plan=. 20 KSEL currently provides support to the SA-ALC including -- Chemistry Sciences, Metallurgical Sciences, Non-Destructive Inspection/Testing, Reverse Engineering/Process Control and Quality Verification.
