CBD on March 3, 1998. Notice is modified to answer questions and
furnish add'l info: Q#1: Require info on 3M Trimax 12B conversion
screen. A#1: Screens absorb x-ray photons and emit light photons;
process is part of function of Amorphous Silicon Detector. Mfg 3M
Medical Imaging Systems, St. Paul, Mn. Trimax screens are primarily
particulate Gadolinium OxySulfide (GOS) on a plastic backing. These
screens must meet the performance across range of energies which is
required for detector system. Performance required to be equivalent or
better at all x-ray energies in the 60KeV to 9MeV range and measured
by conversion efficiency and resolution. RFQ requires that the
conversion screen be a replaceable item. Q#2: Is RFQ for Detector Only?
A#2: Yes, detector must include hardware and software interface to
specified host computer. Q#3: Is there need for imaging software,
computer system, etc.? A#3: Software must be provided to allow the
functioning of the detector including accumulation, correction,
display, and storage of images on the PCI Bus Pentium PC operating MS
NT 4.0. Computer and operating system is not part of this purchase.
Q#4: Should response include an x-ray source? A#4: No. (0076) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0218 19980319\66-0010.SOL)
