26505-2888 66 -- UPGRADE OF EXISTING LABORATORY DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM SOL
RP98-015 DUE 033098 POC Brenda Goodwin, 304/285-5882/Contracting
Officer, Rex S. Wolfe, 304/285-5883 The National Institutes for
Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has a requirement to upgrade an
existing laboratory data collection system, the Macreflex system
manufactured by Qualisys, Glastonbury, CT. This system is used for
measuring the motions of humans in three dimensions. There are seven
requirements that the system must meet to be technically acceptable:
(1) The system shall have the ability to sample at a rate of 240 frames
per second or greater (must be able to specify any integer frame rate
between 1 and 240); (2) There shall be six cameras to provide
sufficient redundancy so that at least two cameras can see each marker
throughout lifting, walking and falling; (3) At least two of the
cameras should be wide angle (f 8 mm); (4) The system shall work with
infrared light to reduce unwanted reflections due to visible light
sources (must be able to change the amount of IR light emitted by the
system); (5) The system should have the capability to be upgraded to
active markers; (6) The system accuracy shall be within 1 mm in a field
of view of 1 cubic meter; and (7) The system shall be suitable for
integration with existing systems in the Protective Technology Branch
laboratories. Transition to the upgraded system should require minimal
retraining of government staff. Vendors capable of providing an
upgrade to the existing Macreflex system, including any applicable
trade-in discounts for components, are invited to submit appropriate
documentation, literature, brochures and references to Brenda L.
