This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Request for Quotation number is DTCG89-98-6PT083 and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-03. This solicitation is set-aside 100% for small business. The SIC code is 3577. The small business size standard is 1000 employees. The contract type will be firm fixed price. The Government proposes to solicit quotes on the following items: 001 -- One (1) Degausser, 002 -- One (1) Multi-Purpose Small Format Adapter, 003 -- One (1) Multi-Purpose Medium Format Adapter, 004 -- One (1) Universal Hard Drive Adapter. REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATIONS: Must be capable of erasing/purging classified information from hard disk media including one-thirdand one-half height hard drives without removing disk platters. In completing this task, the item must meet requirements of DOD 5200.28-M (Industrial Security Manual for safeguarding Classified Information). The item must meet NSA requirements for special purpose degaussers and appear on the NSA generated Degausser Products List. Must provide for continuous monitoring of magnetic field with audible alarms to indicate exceeding of field limits. Must be adaptable to other media, including the following: Computer tape cartridges -- 1/2 inch (H) x 2 3/8 inch (W) x 3 1/8 inch (L), Computer tape cartridges -- 1/2 inch (H) x 2 3/4 inch (W) x 3 3/4 inch (L), Magnetic tape reel up to 14 inch x 2 inch, Bernoulli Removable Hard Disks, VHS Tape Cartridges. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Item must accept all rigid disk media without disassembly, Must be adaptable to 208V or 220V outlet. Must have power circuit breakers. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY: The contractor shall deliver to COMMANDER, COAST GUARD PACIFIC AREA (Pt), BLDG. 42, COAST GUARD ISLAND, ALAMEDA, CA, CA 94501-5100 on or before April 30, 1998. Shipment shall be marked with the purchase order number, name and address of the contractor on the outside for identity purposes.
