This notice is for a pre-solicitation conference to be held on 7 April 1998, at Columbus AFB, MS, for the purpose of discussing the site restoration of approximately 500 acres of recently cut-over timber land at Shuqualak Auxiliary Airfield, MS. Interested contractors should meet at the 14th Contracting Squadron, 555 Seventh St, Suite 113, Columbus AFB, MS 39710 at 0830 on 7 April 1998. A visit to the site will be a scheduled portion of the conference. The anticipated contract will require the contractor to provide all plant, labor, material, equipment, and transportation necessary to clear, grade, and plant a clear zone at the auxiliary airfield. This shall include, but is not limited to, shearing or otherwise eradicating stumps, eliminating all existing vegetation, disposal of debris, sloping areas to ensure good drainage, rehabilitating drainage ditches, and establishing a mowable grass turf (Coastal Bermuda). The pre-solicitation conference is held to provide an exchange of information between the interested industry sources and the government. Portions of information or facts gained from the conference may be included in an upcoming solicitation. This requirement is anticipated to be a total small business set-aside.
