Gaughan, Project Manager 214/819-8946 Construction of a new 29,223 gross square foot, one-story Postal facility. The project includes the installation of fill and the associated site work; the installation of concrete andf asphalt paving as outlined, the installation of structural concrete piers, footings, and slabs. The building structure consists of steel columns and beams with steel joists and other miscellaneous metals. The building exterior consists of a brick veneer and a modified bitumen roof. The interior of the building consists of metal stud walls with gypsum board, porcelain, VCT ceramic tile floors, carpeted floors, acoustical lay-in ceilings, architectural casework, steel roll-down doors, steel sliding doors, solid wood doors, the installation of post office boxes, architectural signage, in accordance with plans and specifications. The site is located at Kelly Avenue and Covell Road in Edmond, Oklahoma. Estimated cost range $2,000,000 -- $2,900,000 and construction time is 300 calendar days. The U.S. Postal Service is currently advertising for new construction in Lawton, Oklahoma. Although each project will be awarded separately, it may be in the best interest of the Postal Service to make multiple awards if there are cost savings if submitting an offer on both facilities. Therefore, contractors are strongly encouraged to submit offers on both projects. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracing Plan for Small and Minority-Owned, and Woman-Owned Business. The contractor shall subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts. Proposal bond in the amount of 20% of proposal is required. Performance bonds in the amount of 100% and Payment bonds in the amount of 50% will be required from the successful offeror within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on April 16, 1998. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available on March 17, 1998 at a cost of $100.00 per set (NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only. Checks or money orders must be made payable to REES ASSOCIATES. Since this is a request for proposals, offers will not be publicly opened. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any one offer, or relative standing of offeror will not be disclosed to anyone until after award of a contract is made and the request is submitted in writing.
