Solicitation is scheduled to issue on or about May 20, 1998. Federal
Supply Schedule FSC Group 32/34 -- Woodworking and Metalworking
Machinery & Equipment, is being issued as a standing solicitation. A
standing solicitation allows vendors to submit an offer at any time and
there is no closing date. Contracts awarded under this standing
solicitation will be effective for 5-years commencing on the date of
award, unless canceled, terminated, or extended under an option period.
These new provisions will ensure that customers are provided a
continuous source of supply. The Government contemplates award of
contracts for supplies listed in the Schedule of Items covering 17
Special Item Numbers. The scope is expanded to include worldwide
delivery. Delivery terms are FOB Destination for the domestic scope (48
contiguous United States and Washington D.C.) and all locations outside
the domestic scope. Contact points for locations outside the domestic
scope are mandatory in order to provide customers inthose locations
with local assistance. Under this solicitation, offers will be accepted
for brands identical to those currently awarded. All contracts awarded
under this Multiple Award Schedule solicitation will include an option
to extend the term of the contract. Resultant contracts will be
indefinite delivery -- indefinite quantity contracts with $100
guaranteed minimum for the contract period. All current contracts
awarded under Federal Supply Schedule 32/34 will be modified to
incorporate Clause I-FSS-164-D, Option to Extend the Term of the
Contract. Special Item Number 577-07 "Grinders, Bench or Pedestal
Mounted" is revised to read "Grinding Machines, all types." Special
Item Number 577-99 -- New Technology is added to the schedule of items.
Various clauses including Clause I-FSS-599, Electronic Commerce --
Federal Acquisition Network (FACNET), which implements GSA Advantage
(GSA's On-Line Shopping Program) are included. Clause I-FSS-125,
Requirements Exceeding the Maximum Order, and related clauses which
implement the new maximum order provisions will also be included in the
solicitation. These new provisions allow customer agencies to seek a
price reduction for requirements that exceed the maximum order. A level
called a maximum order will be established for each contract to help
customer agencies determine when they should seek a price decrease.
When an order exceeds the maximum order, it is recommended that the
agency contact the vendor for a reduced price. In accordance with FAR
52.216-19 (Var III), contractors are not obligated to accept orders
exceeding the maximum order. All contracts will include Industrial
Funding provisions. See Note 12 (Trade Agreements). All responsible
sources may submit an offer which will be considered. (0077) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0210 19980320\32-0001.SOL)
