D -- EXTENSION OF AN EXISTING TERRESTRIAL AND SATELLITE REQUIREMENTS CONTRACT. POC Janet M. Biegler, 618-229-9497 The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) intends to issue a one-year base with a one-year option sole source extension to Contract DCA200-93-D-0048, a firm fixed price contract. The purpose of this extension is to provide continuity of services until the services can be transitioned to the Defense Information System Network (DISN). This contract provides multiple T1 and Fractional T1 dedicated, nonpreemptible, digital service connecting hubs with outlying sites. There are appoximately 40 circuits involved connecting various worldwide locations. In addition, it provides international and domestic satellite transmission capabilities in support of command and control of operational deployments and/or training missions any time/any place. This requirement is for a variety of mission critical multimedia services, including Command and Control (C2) voice and data, as well as other intelligence, voice, data, video teleconferencing, and imagery services necessary to meet Global requirements. This action is needed to ensure continuity of service until the services can be transitioned to the Defense Information System Network (DISN). Transitioning will take place during this extension for a one-year base period with a one-year option. The contractor is Signal Communications System & Supply, Inc, (SIGCOM), 4413 W. Market St., Greensboro, NC 27407-1305. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1).
